Quiet Walk Plus underlayment improves a floor four ways:

1. provides a patented system of moisture protection reducing mold and mildew
2. smooths out little sub-floor imperfections
3. quiets impact sound and floor-to-ceiling noise
4. increases R-value to help keep floors warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer

NOTE: This product is normally sold with biocides and fungicides (antimicrobials). We had it specially made for us without these potentially harmful chemicals.

Quiet Walk Plus is a unique patented system designed to allow moisture to wick its way out from beneath a floor and into the ambient air. How does it keep moisture from being trapped underneath a floor? It has two layers: the top layer is a tough polyethylene vapor retarder and the bottom is made of synthetic fibers. As moisture comes up through the subfloor, it is automatically absorbed into the porous fibers which naturally wicks its way outwards towards the walls and eventually releases into the ambient air. This system prevents moisture from becoming trapped underneath the flooring and thereby reduces the potential for mold and mildew.

There is no odor and it does not off-gas any toxic fumes. PLUS, you don't need any tape for the seams, the roll comes with a factory attached lip and tape system.

Quiet Walk Plus underlayment is suitable for use over all types of concrete or wood subfloors, including over radiant heat systems.

NOTE: In geographic areas where concrete slabs are subject to excessive moisture, a calcium chloride test is required. Vapor emission readings in excess of 6 lbs. per 1,000 square feet in 24 hours will require additional protections such as a concrete sealant or polyethylene sheeting.
