Non-toxic roofing, chimney and flashing sealant

NovaLink FP (formerly known as BARR Flash and Patch) is a non-toxic, moisture-cured, elastomeric caulk/sealant designed specifically to waterproof and repair all types of residential and commercial roofing. Elastomeric means it will stretch and shrink with the seasons. Flash and Patch performs well on chimney seals, asphalt shingles, roof valleys, seams and flashing.

This liquid rubber comes in a black gloss and is able to work in cold conditions as low as 40 °F, as well as in wet conditions; this makes it great for temporary emergency repairs. NovaLink FP will not degrade from exposure to sunlight.

NOTE: We recommend using this product within 6 months of the date of purchase.

NOTE: This caulk will not bond to HDPE plastics.

NovaLink FP applies as black and dries to a black gloss.

NOTE: ChemLink products do not adhere to polyethylene or polypropylene (recycled plastics)

Why We Like It

NovaLink FP (formerly known as BARR Flash and Patch) will last a very long time without cracking or shrinking and it won't smell like solvent or petroleum-based products. When you have serious roofing problems, being able to apply this type of material in cold wet conditions is a big plus.

Surface or Product Preparation
Surface should be clean, dry and free from all contamination including: dirt, oils, grease, tar, wax, rust and any other substance that may inhibit the sealants performance. DO NOT use petroleum solvents such as mineral spirits or xylene to clean your surface before using this product. Instead, remove all dirt, oil, loose paint, frost and other contaminates with alcohol. Horizontal applications will require tooling. Allow treated wood to cure for six months prior to application. Do not use in areas subject to continuous immersion of water or chemicals. Do not use on TPO without Chemlink TPO Primer. In most instances BARR will not require a primer. However, certain applications or substrates may require a primer to ensure a long lasting bond and weatherproof seal. It is the applicators responsibility to determine the need for a primer. Chem Link recommends a primer be used for any application where prolonged immersion is anticipated.
