The Marmoleum Cocoa Collection is a new addition made with real cocoa husks that is a residual by-product of the regional Dutch chocolate manufacturing facilities. The color names describe the appearance: white chocolate, milk chocolate, dark chocolate, chocolate blues, and earl grey chocolate. All colors create a fresh modern, almost yummy look. Marmoleum Cocoa received the Reddot Design Award in 2017 for its innovative use of upcycled cocoa which gave new tactility and subtle organic coloration to it clean pure surface.
Like all Forbo Marmoleum sheet products, it's made with 98% natural ingredients (78% pre-consumer recycled), 100% renewable electricity and is produced CO2 neutral. Marmoleum is free of PVC, PET, synthetic rubber, and plasticizers.
Marmoleum is used in numerous schools, hospitals, and commercial buildings in part because it has natural bacteriostatic properties (natural antimicrobial) which are confirmed by independent laboratories, even against the bacteria MRSA. Marmoleum sheet floors will not off-gas hazardous chemicals; this makes them safe for everyone, even the chemically sensitive. It complies with REACH, the highest European standard (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) as well as the highest California standard CARB2. Marmoleum is SMART certified as a sustainable product.
Unlike vinyl flooring, Marmoleum is easier to clean, lasts longer, and is biodegradable. Natural anti-static properties reduce the accumulation of dust, as well as the risk of electric shock, and make for easy dust and damp-mop cleaning.
NOTE: Don't forget the adhesive! For this product we recommend Forbo Sustain 1195 Sheet & Tile Adhesive.

Marmoleum sheeting may be applied over subfloors made of plywood, concrete, Vinyl, VCT or other resilient materials as long as it meets the conditions noted in the substrate evaluation & preparation guidelines. See pdf in side bar. Same for ceramic tile which also may require a leveling product to fill the grout lines so it does not telegraph through. In all cases a bond test must be conducted to make sure the adhesive is able to set up and cure properly.
Marmoleum 'tile' products include DIY Marmoleum Click, a floating floor, as well as 2.5 mm Marmoleum Modular and a commercial 2 mm Marmoleum Composition Tile (MCT).
