Forbo Marmoleum Composition Sheet (MCS) offers a competitively-priced, safe, and sustainable alternative to vinyl, VCT or laminate flooring. It's a chemical-free, eco-friendly flooring made from rapidly renewable and bio-based materials. MCS is 2.0 mm thick vs. 2.5 mm for most other Marmoleum sheeting.
Marmoleum is called the 40-year linoleum because it's highly durable and long-lasting in both residential and commercial applications. The through-body color hides scratches and is easily reparable. The TopShield Pro finish also protects the surface, making it easy to maintain with a damp mop.
Marmoleum MCS comes in 11 colors from natural to bright in a marble-like design. This makes it a beautiful green flooring choice for kitchens, rec rooms, bedrooms, living rooms, basements, and offices.
The sustainability of Marmoleum from “field to field” (flax field to compost pile) is the most transparent and sustainable of any flooring material. As such, Marmoleum carries more environmental certifications that are third-party, independent, and LCA-based (life cycle assessment of multiple attributes), than any other flooring material. Marmoleum has, through clear third-party, publicly disclosed, verifiable documentation, the lowest environmental footprint of any manufactured flooring material. Sustainability has been integrated into every step of the process, from supply chain, through manufacturing, to installation and use, and finally end of life.
Marmoleum sheeting may be applied over subfloors made of plywood, concrete, Vinyl, VCT or other resilient materials as long as it meets the conditions noted in the substrate evaluation & preparation guidelines. See pdf in side bar. It is the same for ceramic tile, which may require a leveling product to fill the grout lines so it does not telegraph through. In all cases, a bond test must be conducted to make sure the adhesive is able to set up and cure properly.
Marmoleum 'tile' products include DIY Marmoleum Click, a floating floor, as well as 2.5 mm Marmoleum Modular and a commercial 2 mm Marmoleum Composition Tile (MCT).
NOTE: Don't forget the adhesive! For this product we recommend Forbo Sustain 1195 Sheet & Tile Adhesive.
