WaterProof cork is a new generation of sustainable, non-PVC flooring made by Amorim Wicanders that offers a durable, long lasting, comfortable floor that is 100% waterproof*. It is a click cork plank floor that can be floated or glued down. It's also beautiful, safe and climate positive for the environment. It has all the benefits of vinyl (WPC, SPC and LVT) flooring but with none of the hazardous chemicals.
*Waterproof does not mean floodproof. Please read this article for more information on this subject.
WaterProof Cork is made with 100% natural cork and is renewable and recyclable. Unlike most luxury vinyl or rigid core flooring, it contains zero VOC, PVC, phthalates, formaldehyde, isocyanates, flame retardants or antimicrobials. As a result, WaterProof Cork flooring produces the safest indoor air quality certified by numerous national and international third-party organizations (see below).
It’s also the first and only flooring that has reached a climate positive footprint. That means its overall production, use and disposal from cradle to grave do not add carbon to the environment, but actually reduces carbon and global warming potential. While it is recyclable, it is not biodegradable like the Wicanders traditional cork.
WaterProof Cork wears as good as its synthetic counterparts; its superior wear resistance is suitable for almost any indoor location. It’s a true DIY floating floor that can be installed above, at or below grade without nails or glues. However, for areas with excessive moisture, heat or traffic including commercial spaces, we recommend the use of adhesives. Cutting is easy with an ordinary box knife or traditional chop saw, Skil saw or jig saw! Additionally, WaterProof cork is so dimensionally stable that it can be installed in very large areas, up to 3,229 square feet, without transition strips.
NOTE: This floor should NOT be Steam Mopped. Steam Mopping may damage this floor.
WaterProof Cork demonstrates all the benefits of traditional cork such as: optimal thermal and acoustical insulation, fire resistance and walking comfort. Most people love cork because of how it feels under foot. There's nothing else like it.
Each plank is .28” thick x 7.68” wide x 48.22” long and is packaged 20.57 SF per box (Beach House, Field Oak, Highland Oak, Ocean Oak, Quartz Oak, Royal Oak, Sprucewood, Treehouse) or .28” thick x 7.48” wide x 48.22” long and is packaged 20.04 SF per box (Aspen, Contempo Loft, Santa Cruz). The Wood Look has a repeat every 9 planks, however, it's an offset repeat meaning that nothing shows up in the same place. It's almost impossible to look at a completed floor and see any repeats. WaterProof cork also comes in a Cork Look. See visuals here Cork Look Line
NOTE: Amorim Wicanders WISE waterproof cork may be installed over radiant heat as long as the cork flooring is glued down with appropriate adhesives and the radiant source, electric or hydronic, is embedded in concrete/wood beneath the subfloor surface. Please see glue down installation instructions for requirements.
NOTE2: Do Not use the following area rugs over waterproof cork: solid rubber-backed area rugs because they can trap moisture and heat; and hard fibrous area rugs that can leave slight indentations over time. Our EarthWeave Rug Gripper (item #41344), which is porous, works fine.
A 10 Day Sample box rental is available for this Wood Look Line for $24.99 which includes a return shipping label and a $25 Off coupon for your purchase of Waterproof Cork flooring (applicable for orders of 250 SF or more).

Why We Like It
For many years we’ve been begging our flooring manufacturers to develop a waterproof product that is kid and pet friendly, and will hold up to the daily abuse of modern flooring. Finally one company, Amorim Wicanders, listened; and created a revolutionary and sustainable new product. Not only did they develop a floor that would perform in damp environments without the toxic chemicals, but in so doing they made something that was climate positive and actually good for the whole environment. This is history-making.
It is a win for consumers, a win for the company, and a win for the environment.
